Project at Monte Verzegnis..

The project at Monte di Verzegnis (Italy) brought together 7 artists
(Edi Carrar (I), Nico Colle (I), Chris Peterson (NL), Thomas Reifferscheid (G), Adriana Rupp (G), Stefan Sprenker and Cordula (G) )
from Europe to experiment with the incredible environment of
Monte di Verzegnis, each in their own way.
The project gave optimal freedom of expression,
not limiting the artists in any way.

The work made for this occaission is a startingpoint of more works that tackle the issue of 'redefining structures'. It reflects certain present structures that were there at Monte Verzegnis such as the old railway that was used to transport marble, and the former barraks of the stonemasons.
I wanted to emphasize these unnatural objects to the viewer, who makes the effort of climbing Monte di Verzegnis. When stumbling accross several artworks at such altitude, it might be an experience that has more of an impact than the average gallery or museum visit. Hopefully in such an one on one event (flocks of hikers are very uncommon), the experience opens up the senses for specific situation bound elements.

Note: this sculpture is permanently on display on Monte Verzegnis (Italy)
