A simple structure that would normally be executed in wood, will be made in granite. With a raised floor and doorway it becomes an unfamiliar sight, expectation and experience of space.
The use of granite makes the structure blend in with its scenic mountainous environment. The material creates a synergy between surrounding nature, the material used to make it and the rigid shape of the structure. The material as a mediator between two parties.
That unifying quality is what evokes a respons, an awareness and appreciation for material and its originated environment.
